As a case writer, Amira is currently writing case studies on the Operations for Entrepreneurship research project at ASB. She holds a Masters in International Business from Ewha Womans University in South Korea, specializing in social entrepreneurship, gender development and East Asian Studies. Previously, Amira received her BSc. (with First Class Honours) in Actuarial Science from Heriot-Watt University, UK. She also spent a year at University of Waterloo, Canada for a Mathematics exchange program.
Amira spent six months in Geneva interning at the United Nations World Meteorological Organization where she was in charge of analyzing data and reports on gender survey and progress in the weather and climate services. During her time in South Korea, along with her two colleagues, they developed a social business model for food waste management which was awarded the Global Networking Award at the Appropriate Technology Design Competition in Daejeon. Prior to joining ASB, she was also a language instructor, teaching foreign students the Malaysian language and culture.
