Biography

Gillian Ng serves as the Executive Director at the Iclif Executive Education Center within the Asia School of Business. She leads a dynamic team responsible for overseeing various corporate governance and leadership programs. Among these are the Financial Institutions Directors’ Education (FIDE) program, the Mandatory Accreditation Program (MAP), the Money Services Business Directors’ Education Program (MDEP), and the Shariah Leaders Education program catering to shariah committee members of Islamic financial institutions. Notably, Gillian holds the role of Lead Faculty for MDEP. She also teaches in the Pathway to a Governance Practitioner Program namely the Risk Management module and other custom-built programs.

Her prior experience includes a tenure at Bank Negara Malaysia, where she played a pivotal role in the Prudential Financial Policy Department. Her primary focus involved elevating Corporate Governance within the financial sector. With over 20 years of expertise encompassing Statutory and Internal Auditing, Forensic Investigations, and the establishment of Enterprise Risk Management Systems across various Public Listed Companies, Gillian brings a wealth of knowledge to her roles.

Gillian’s commitment to governance extends to her involvement in key national committees. She was recently appointed to the National Mirrors Committee under the Governance, Integrity, and Anti-Corruption Centre (GIACC) and leads the Secretariat team for the National Special Committee on Corporate Governance (NSCCG), reporting to the Special Committee on Anti-Corruption led by the Prime Minister.

Her educational background comprises a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Business Administration from the Strathclyde Business School in Glasgow, where she earned a prestigious Best in Class Scholarship. She is a Certified Public Accountant (MICPA) and received the PWC Silver medallist recognition for Management Information Systems. Gillian’s dedication to continuous learning was highlighted by her achievement of the FT Non-Executive Director Program (Level 7) Diploma, securing a perfect score across all modules in November 2017.
