The Action Learning Edition
Our fourth edition features our Faculty Director, Loredana Padurean, Action Learning Director, Sarma Subramanian and Deputy Director Jefri Zaini.
Concept-based Action Learning is the process of learning by working on real business challenges in collaboration with host companies, using tools and frameworks taught in the classroom with the support of mentors, faculty experts and industry leaders. Our MBA program is one-of-a-kind as our curriculum is built focusing on Action Learning. A third of the 20-month full-time curriculum is spent on-site working with our host partners, in different countries on different problem areas, generating value for both students and host partners.
The MBA Edition

This edition marks the beginning of a transformative journey for the 47 extraordinary and unconventional students who have come from 6 continents to embark on their 20-month MBA quest. The ASB MBA program combines theory and practice at every level so that each graduate is business-ready and equipped with a broad range of tools and capabilities in order to create a powerful impact throughout Asia and all across the world.
The Corporate Edition
For our third edition, we are excited to share the special Corporate Edition of our new ASB magazine featuring Zalina Jamaluddin, Director of Corporate Engagement and share ASB’s entire portfolio of corporate products: MBA program, Action Learning, Custom Executive Education, Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center and other services.
ASB magazine’s Corporate Edition demonstrates how deeply we engage with our corporate partners, our relationship philosophy and also how corporations can engage with ASB – ranging from Action Learning projects to Sponsorships, Scholarships or ASB’s Endowment initiative.
The Entrepreneurship Edition
In the second edition of the ASB magazine, we feature the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center and its Director, Rajesh Nair.
The Inaugural Edition
We are excited to share with the friends of Asia School of Business the inaugural edition of the ASB magazine.
In this first number, we are proud to introduce to you our school and all our programs: the 18 months MBA that will start in September 2016, the Executive Education courses that we run frequently and the exciting Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre.
You can also read about Action Learning, the core methodology that we bring from MIT Sloan. Our MBA students will have the opportunity to spend time during each semester working on site with our corporate and SME partners in real projects allowing them to be better and faster prepared to join the workforce.
Our cover story features Aman Advani, an MIT Sloan entrepreneur and Founder and CEO of Ministry of Supply, an innovative clothing company born out of MIT that employs NASA technology in the manufacturing of its fabric to provide businessmen with both comfort and style. Aman encompasses the essence of the ASB candidate and we hope that his story will be an inspiration for all.
Research is a crucial aspect of our ASB value proposition and in this first edition we introduce you to the Tesla, a case study developed in collaboration between Tesla and an MIT group of professors that include the ASB president, Charles Fine and Prof. Loredana Padurean. The case presents the early stages of the Tesla development and is supported by a theoretical framework “Nail it, Scale it, Sail it” developed by the two mentioned authors.
